The Music Mentoring Project
Funded by: BGC Charity Day / The Big Give / Childhood Trust / Studios For All Fund / PIRATE / Small Green Shoots
Cohorts: 8yrs to 11yrs / 12yrs to 18yrs
We are proud to be supporting 40 children and young people every weekend in Music Production and Live Band Development.
Our CEO Debbi Clark developed The Music Mentoring Project in 2021 – this program is one of our most prolific programs to date. The impact of giving children and young people free access to learn the art of music has evolved into our oldest cohort in the ‘LiveBand’ project has been one of significance.
We are proud to have leading professionals in the music industry, our music director Spider J and tutor Will Green have been leading our young musicians on their creative journey in music.
Our cohort ages 12yrs to 18yrs have been funded for a Music Documentary and Summer Tour 24 – playing live at Wilderness Festival, Camden Inspire, The SCOOP-Summer by the River, Ronnie Scott’s, House of St Barnabas and HvH ARTS Summer Festival.
We have created opportunities for children and young people to gain unique skills of making their own E.P, writing lyrics, meeting guest artists, recording, writing and production. We have an expert group of mentors that help our young people to gain confidence through developing their creativity. The workshops result in music videos accessible to the public, music live on streaming services and fully developed merchandise.
This course is a world class masterclass in music and business education whilst simultaneously encouraging young people at risk to be part of a community of likeminded artists and entrepreneurs.
The Crimson Rock-U-Mentory
A project in partnership with AMPLIFY LONDON MUSIC - YouTube Music – London Music Fund - COMPANY3 - PIRATE
Rock-U-Mentory
A short music documentary funded by AMPLIFY LONDON, YouTube Music and London Music Fund and produced by HvH ARTS as part of The Music Mentoring Project. The film was edited by COMPANY3 and documents the Camden Rock-U-Mentory, a summer program supporting 10 talented young musicians aged 14 -18. The program provided opportunities to gain experience in music-writing, production, and performance, alongside mentoring sessions led by industry insiders, where they developed knowledge of music industry skills, tools, and career routes.
Introducing The Crimson
The Crimson, a young band from Camden, has been developed over the past three years as part of The Music Mentoring Project at HvH ARTS. Influenced by urban-pop R&B, this eclectic group of brilliant young musicians, aged 14 to 18, write and perform their own music.
Having played at Ronnie Scott’s, Wilderness Festival, London’s Summer by the River Festival at The Scoop in 2023 and 2024, and Camden Inspire 2023 and 2024. The impact of this tour has led to performances at the Camden Night Market and Coram’s Field Fireworks Event.
Dimensions Programme
A project in partnership with Greenhouse Sports
Our aim is to increase the Dimensions of our Inner-City Youth. Currently, both Greenhouse Sports and HVH ARTS run educational programs aimed at developing the skill sets of their young people. Greenhouse Sports is one of the leading Sports coaching and mentorship charities in London, whilst HVH ARTS is the leading arts charity supporting young people in their TMMP Programme, developing and mentoring young people in music and drama. We aim to increase breadth of opportunity and skill in the London’s youth via access to bespoke theatre and music programs. By courting the skillsets and young adults of both charities, we will be able to provide a unique experience via a program that, for the first time, combines the arts and sport.
